The Ice Castle

We're in London, continues...

Today Magnatune is releasing The Ice Castle by Kirsty Hawkshaw.

I'm so excited!

Kirsty came over yesterday and we had lunch at Le Deuxieme. Champagne, of course. Then we came back to my house to hang out, play music and... sign the Magnatune contract, a truly historic moment.

When I met Kirsty over a year ago I was just honored to meet her and had no idea we were going to become best friends. But we did and have had many fun and hilarious adventures and well as daily iChat gurltalk. John and I both love her music but had assumed there was no possibility of her being on Magnatune because her records were locked up in record company contracts which turned out to be true.

Then one day she played me some of her "other" music and I was stunned by how beautiful it was. So now she is on Magnatune, yay! Her music is gorgeous, go buy it right now!

Wow as Kate Bush said once.. I totally have goosebumps and I love Sunday Morning, the Calypso sounding like bells or drums reverberate wildly through the drywall in my home, shaking all the walls in tandem turning them into a musical instrument like. To no pleasure of my neighbors =0) The ethereal vocals towards the end of the song definitely raised me up in some way [lots of goosebumps] sent me to another realm.. The waves set me down gently, peacefully. Yes this song is incredible, beautiful and wordless. You go Mrs Kirsty Hawkshaw if you ever read this rant from some small soul in the world. Just know you are really amazing, and I am a huge fan and in awe of your music with brilliant UK and US dance artists and musicians, and this current work.

wait a minute wait a minute... Ice Castle (meditation) has really sent me there. To me this was more visually and emotionally visible in my mind than experiencing a world in SL. This put me in a trance at 4 am, I opened all the windows and wrapped in a blanket and laid there with Oliver as we drifted off on a journey sung to us by Kirsty..

Jan & John,

Historical, amazing, congratulations and hugs from Chicago. This is absolutely wonderful, we are so truly happy for you both and for Kirsty. We love you and miss you xoxoxoxoxo. More beautiful music from Magnatune and another side of KFH......... A virtual champagne toast from "Pop's"

Haven't heard it yet but as an artist, I LOVELOVELOVE the visual of the album cover; based on the comments, it well reflects the music inside. Looking forward to hearing it. And whoever poetman is, i like it his poetry and jeremy's comments. It's so much fun to see all of your adventures and you all look like your loving it all too, minus the difficulty with the phones. Nice to 'see' you! Linda
