Design Decisions
We're in California for a while, continues...
While John was in San Francisco at meetings the last two days, I did some house renovations. In Photoshop.
Before we moved into the new house, we decided the refrigerator was too noisy and had it moved into the laundry room which is right off the kitchen and has sliding doors that really mask the sound of the refrigerator nicely. That left a gaping hole in the kitchen so we had to decide what to do with it.
At first we thought shelves but the pantry already has a lot of shelves so then we thought about extending the existing cabinets. Since the existing marble can't be extended without a seam, and even matching the marble will be difficult, John thought butcher block would be good. As you can see in my Photoshop version of the kitchen it will look great so we're going to have the cabinet guy come in to do that.
Also, the drawers in the master bathroom are wearing out and the finish is coming off a few of them. The cabinet guy said it would be easiest to just replace the drawer fronts and dropped of a catalog with possibilities.
So I used Photoshop to modify a photo of the drawers and put the new fronts on them. We thought the existing drawers were too Martha Stewart and decided on the completely plain ones as replacements. We always prefer simple design.
