Bank Holiday Dinner
We're in London, continues...
Yesterday after it poured rain all day, in typical London weather pattern style, the sun came out in late afternoon. Yay!
Last night we had dinner with friends Frances Pinter and her husband David Percy. John and I walked over to Jaan and discovered the restaurant was closed for the bank holiday, even though we had been able to make a reservation on Toptable. Sadly, Swisshotel showed no concern and basically pushed us out the door to find dinner elsewhere with no suggestions or even an offer to call a taxi for us. Sigh.
Frances and David arrived and agreed that Indigo at One Aldwych was most likely open so we walked over there. It was and we had a lovely, delicious dinner.
John has known Frances a while and I've met her a few times. But it was our first time meeting David who is fabulous and we really enjoyed him.
Whenever I get stressed over the noise and chaos of living in Covent Garden I remind myself that meeting people as interesting and accomplished as Frances and David is one of the reasons we live here, and it makes it all worthwhile.
